In partnership with the Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA), Can-Trace has developed online modules and self-assessment tool that will provide companies of all scale with the necessary tools and resources to implement a traceability system based on the Canadian Food Traceability Data Standard (CFTDS).


Standardized Traceability for Fresh Produce 

The Can-Trace Standard & Business Implementation provides a high-level overview of food traceability, Can-Trace and the Canadian Food Traceability Data Standard (CFTDS), version 2.0. Other traceability initiatives and standards and how they relate to the CFTDS are addressed, specifically in the produce sector. Steps for implementing a standardized traceability within existing business processes are provided.

Measuring the Business Value of Traceability

Measuring the Business Value of Traceability gives an in-depth look at the business value and drivers of traceability in today’s global supply chain. It also provides an overview of the tools that Can-Trace has developed to measure the value and ROI of traceability. Examples specific to the produce sector are used.

The Can-Trace Traceability Self-Assessment Tool

The Can-Trace Traceability Self-Assessment Tool will help determine a company’s current level of capability to trace a product throughout the supply chain. It will provide direction on what information may be required to collect, keep, share in the case of an adverse event such as a food recall. The final assessment reached will be based on the CFTDS, version 2.0.
